'The Original Man' was initially established in 1995 as ‘The Men’s Room Inc’ in the English lake District with shops in Kendal and Bowness-on-Windermere, and was re-launched in 2017 in Ulverston, Cumbria as ‘The Original Men’s Room’. In 2020 we returned to our roots in Bowness and rebranded as 'The Original Man' as we are today! The concept shop is set up to provide a hub for gifts and accessories for men of all ages, with both inspirational and aspirational products that are good quality, stylish, a bit different, and value for money. There is a wide selection of goods in store, ranging from watches to wallets, bags to bracelets and belts, shaving gear to beard care, novelty gifts, sunglasses, books and headwear.

Our team have a lot of experience in retail and business, having moved through many different industries and travelled widely to gain a good understanding of what works in business and more importantly what gives the best choice and value for customers. We aim to give great customer service and satisfaction based on our experience of what consumers want, and are always looking out for new product lines and trending styles. We welcome feedback from our customers about what they’d like to see   in gifts for men and how we might improve our service.
